Phony Politicians

This past week has produced one of the strangest (and frightening) spectacles in the long and sordid history of the US Congress. The Democrat majority in the House of Representatives and the US Senate have the lowest job approval rating in the history of the United States, and for good reason. The latest in a series of ever lower lows manifested itself in the haranguing of a talk radio show host, a private citizen, from the once hallowed floor of the US Senate.

Lead by Senate Majority Leader Democrat Harry Reid of Nevada, forty-one Democrat Senators and a mob of wild-eyed, foaming mouthed anti-war activists tried to silence talk show host Rush Limbaugh because of his reference to “phony” anti-war soldiers. Limbaugh’s comments, taken in context, referred to one Jesse Macbeth, a confessed and convicted phony, who’s faked war crimes confessions, received wide media coverage. Much more coverage than his conviction. He claimed to be an Army Ranger who had served in Iraq, when in truth, he was never an Army Ranger nor had he ever been in Iraq. He washed out of boot camp after only forty days! Senator Reid (of questionable ethics involving land deals in Nevada) purposely took Limbaugh’s comments out of context and tried to apply the “phony soldiers” phrase to all military who criticize the Iraq War. Smearing Mr. Limbaugh as unpatriotic and claiming a long history of disparaging the troops, Reid engaged in one of the most outrageous examples of personal destruction against a private citizen in history. All from the floor of the US Senate! Reid had to know he was lying for the truth was out there, on tape and transcript, for anyone to hear and read. Something the Democrats were obviously not interested in doing.

The use of ‘phony soldiers” to advance the liberal Democrat agenda is a long and disgraceful tradition of the party to slander the service of our troops. For example, Micah Ian Wright, author of the 2003 anti-war best seller “You Back the Attack,” was feted at the USC’s Annenberg School as an Army Ranger and Combat Veteran until he was finally exposed as a complete fake! Many similar examples of “phony soldiers” used by the Left and their Democrat puppets for war crimes confessions are documented in B.G. Burkett’s bestseller “Stolen Valor.” Indeed, the problem was so endemic that Republican Congress in 2005, at the urging of many veterans, passed ‘The Stolen Valor Act” finally criminalizing the activities such as those of Macbeth.

There is no one more injured by “phony” war crimes charges lodged by “phony soldiers” than veterans themselves whose service is dishonored by the slander of these pieces of human debris. We heard this slander from John Kerry in 1971 falsely compare our forces in Viet Nam to “the Army of Jhengiz Khan.” Kerry appeared several times with a man named Al Hubbard in such forums as Meet the Press and before Congress confess to war crimes such as bombing innocent villages. Hubbard was an Air Force pilot, who appeared on national television wearing the Distinguished Flying Cross and many other medals while confessing our guilt in Viet Nam. Except he was none of these things, having left the Air Force as a Sergeant, never serving in Viet Nam at all! Of course, we all know that John Kerry himself had a problem with exaggerating his military credentials.

US Military personnel all over the world thank God for men like Rush Limbaugh steadfastly defending our military from these fakes. Mr. Limbaugh has a twenty year history of supporting our troops by shining the light of truth on the Left and their attempts to destroy the America we love and by raising and donating millions to charities benefiting the families of our fallen Heroes.

It is not the likes of Rush Limbaugh that should be condemned from the floor of the Senate, but the Senate itself and its Democrat leaders. It is a body whose failure to condemn Hubbard’s and Kerry’s 1971 libels is deafening. It is also a place on whose floor active duty soldiers have been compared to the assassins of the Khmer Rough by Senator Dick Durbin (d) of Illinois; people who terrorize women and children in the dark of night by Senator John Kerry (d) of Mass.; and called cold blooded murderers by Representative John Murtha (d). Hypocrisy and cowardice are terms too kind for those who demean our soldiers without regard to the consequences; all to advance their own personal political agenda. This conduct, when coupled with the effort to silence Limbaugh, a steadfast defender of the troops, can be best described with two words” Phony Politicians."

The War On Success

The socialist left in America, and their wholly owned subsidiary; the Democrat Party, have always been at war on success. For the last half century, progressive tax schemes have been foisted upon the taxpayers of America. Tax policy that is designed for one thing: punish the people that succeed and redistribute their wealth, wealth they and their families have worked for, to those with less drive.

This War On Success even permeates our schools.Political correctness run amok have caused many schools to ban competitive play at recess for elementary children. No more kick ball or dodge ball; anything that would have a “winner” and a “loser.” High school sports in some schools do not keep score. If you have no score, you have no “loser” who might have their fragile feelings hurt! Schools that have no grades in the classroom! “Well, Johnny, if you feel that 2 + 2 = 5 then that is just fine with us!” No grades, no failures. That pretty much takes care of the little annoyance of accountability of teachers. The bad teachers are just as good as the excellent teachers; at least on their pay stubs! Again, excellence is not rewarded. Take away the incentive for excellence and you just dumb down the system.

Now, do not get me wrong. There are many, many excellent teachers out there somewhere in this cesspool called "the system." They are just buried by bureaucracy and hobbled by the insane "political correctness" and dictates of the NEA and other liberal education organizations. My hat is off to you out there fighting the good fight, futile as it may seem.

The past few classes of “graduates” from our very expensive public school systems, in many cases, are an embarrassment, despite the effort of the good teachers. Just about any employer who has had the misfortune to interview a high school “graduate” lately will attest to this. The first year or two of the four year college curriculum is, in effect, remedial reading, writing and arithmetic. Where is the outrage? How are these “kids” supposed to survive in the rough and tumble world of a global economy? Will they just whine, kick and scream and then sue if they do not get the job they are not qualified for? Probably.

This has not been an accident. The liberal left and their party have, for years, worked covertly and overtly, to make more and more of the population more and more dependent upon government for everything from food to housing to jobs (handouts) and now, healthcare. There is no longer much incentive to go out and work hard, take risks and succeed. Where is the reward if you can just sit back and whine and demand that someone that has more than you be forced to give it to you?

Abject – Squalid – Shameless

Columbia University’s bizarre decision to offer a platform to Ahmadinejad, the Iranian head of a violent terrorist state, was “abject, squalid, and shameless.” This is how Winston Churchill described the resolution passed by Oxford University’s prestigious Debating Union in 1933 – the year Adolf Hitler came to power – that “this House will under no circumstances fight for King and Country.”

The Columbia mis-adventure, like the 1933 Oxford resolution, sent (quoting Churchill again) a “very disquieting and disgusting message” to friends and foe alike.

Unfortunately, many Americans do not understand that message. Their blindness goes to the heart of the Left v/s Right divide in our country; much like the one 1930s Britain that split men like Churchill from the appeasers of Europe’s dictators.

On one side of the divide, there is outrage and incomprehension that anyone could extend an invitation to a sworn enemy of the United States to speak on an American campus (a campus, by the way, that bans its own military ROTC!); the head of the world’s biggest terrorism sponsor in a city that was 9-11’s principal target; a Holocaust-denier welcomed at a university that has so many Jewish students and alumni. (One would only hope this is remembered when it is time to write that donation or tuition check!)

On the other side, there is bewilderment that anyone could possibly be offended. Therein lies the problem!

The Loony-Left in this country concluded long ago that this is not a war between Islamic extremist fascism and Western civilization, but a fight between Islamic “militants” and President Bush, with the Left favoring the “militants.” The attack of 9-11 never changed the Loonies’ view that the real menace to world peace is the Bush Administration; what former Senator J. William Fulbright called “the arrogance of American power” – much as the British leftists in the early ‘30s assumed that the real cause of war wasn’t men like Hitler and Mussolini, but capitalism and arms merchants.

Sadly, too many men and women at Columbia (and on other US campuses) see the War on Terror as something that they are free to judge and criticize as if it doesn’t involve them at all.

Adolf Hitler got the clear message of the 1933 Oxford Union debate: We will not oppose you. Ahmadinejad is bound to use his speech at Columbia to a hall of “open-minded” Americans as a major public-relations victory. How tragic that the Looney-left and the loonier media should hand him such a coup!

As Churchill said, “There is no place for compromise in war. That invaluable process only means that soldiers are shot because their leaders in council and camp are unable to resolve.”

He added, “In war the clouds never blow over; they gather unceasingly and fall in thunderbolts.” It was the falling thunderbolts of Nazi bombs that finally convinced the appeasers of the ‘30s that they had been wrong. New York City has already gone through its Blitz. What more will it take here, today?

The Truth Behind HillaryCare

When Hillary Clinton last took a stab at ‘repairing’ America's health-care system, an overwhelming majority of Americans rejected her grand vision of an enormous government-run health-care bureaucracy and they will again, I feel.

Hillary Clinton and health care do not mix.

The crux of Hillary's plan is an ``individual mandate,'' which requires that all Americans buy health insurance whether they want to or not. So much for freedom of choice!

To accomplish this, the plan will create a government- regulated national pool through which individuals can purchase insurance. Those who are already insured would get to choose whether to keep their current health coverage or purchase the new national plan.

Additionally, Clinton would force big businesses that don't offer health insurance to pay a punitive tax.

In order to sell to the national pool, the government would demand that insurers cover all applicants (``guaranteed issue'') and that premium levels would have to be indiscriminate, regardless of people's health status when they apply (``community rating.'')

She estimates that her plan would cost $110 billion per year – which, if history is any guide, is woefully underestimated.

To pay for it, Clinton hopes to exploit the significant savings from improved health-care technology, particularly from electronic medical records (which is the only good idea of the whole plan). She would also use some of the revenue from the repeal of President George W. Bush's tax cuts. In other words, raising taxes on all who actually pay taxes. Additionally, she advocated a cap on the tax deductibility of health insurance for wealthy Americans with expensive insurance coverage in effect punishing the “evil rich” for being able to afford the coverage they want.

In other words, Hillary is telling every American that they must purchase a health-insurance product the government likes. This is inconsequential if you already have a plan the government will like, but a serious problem if government makes you purchase something you don't want.

Here is the problem: individuals with costly health problems will want to gravitate toward generous and costly plans. Healthy individuals, especially the young, will want to avoid getting stuck with big insurance bills, either by purchasing the narrowest coverage possible, or by avoiding the purchase altogether. This, in the insurance industry, is called “adverse selection.” The result will be the “sick” will utilize the system at a much higher rate than the healthy, driving up the cost of medical service for all. Then HillaryCare will have to stick taxpayers in general with the soaring costs of the plans that attract the sick.

The hand of government will have to be heavy indeed. The most likely outcome is that federal law will require proof of insurance of every individual, even those without a job. Penalties for those without insurance would likely be monetary, and steep enough to force many individuals to purchase insurance products they otherwise would avoid.

It would probably take a little while for Hillary's plan to make a complete mash out of the current health-care universe. When it does, you can bet that the ``fix'' will be the implementation of socialized medicine, which has failed everywhere it has been tried.

Condemed! (And About Time!)

The Senate voted Thursday to condemn an advertisement by the liberal anti-war group MoveOn.org that accused the top military commander in Iraq of betrayal.

The 72-25 vote condemned the full-page ad that appeared in The New York Times last week as Gen. David Petraeus, the top military commander in Iraq, testified on Capitol Hill. The ad was headlined: "General Petraeus or General Betray Us? Cooking the books for the White House."

The resolution condemning the ad was sponsored by conservative Republican John Cornyn of Texas. Voting against it were Democratic presidential hopefuls Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York and Christopher Dodd of Connecticut. This will be a huge problem for Clinton from now on. Moveon.org was created as a Clinton Machine front organization during the Clinton impeachment proceedings. Hillary is a captive of her own creation. She cannot distance herself from them because she is ‘them’. The beast has taken on a life of its own and is no longer controllable by its master; A sure recipe for disaster.

Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois, another contender for the Democratic nomination, did not vote, although he voted minutes earlier for an alternative resolution by Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif. That resolution condemned the MoveOn ad as an "unwarranted personal attack." Sounds like Osama-Obama (as Sen. Ted Kennedy (d) in his usual drunken stupor called him) may actually have voted for the intent of the resolution before not voting for it. The old Kerry shuffle!

Good for the Senate! However, you will be hearing the Liberal Losers whining about the Senate spending time debating a newspaper ad, but the issue is much deeper than that. The issue here goes to the core of our being as a nation. Do we support the men and women who serve and protect no matter what we think about their mission, or do we throw them under the bus as happened during the Viet Nam era? The leaders of the Liberal Left are just a bunch of old hippies who got their anti-war credentials wallowing in the mud of the seventies while ‘not-inhaling.’

Hillary's Medicinal Tea

Liberals are sipping Hillary Tea (for medicinal purposes only, I assume). It seems like deja vu all over again, it’s 1994 and we have a Hillary Clinton health care plan to cover all Americans and O J in jail. It is too early to criticize Hillary’s health care plan in detail because as usual the details are still missing. What I can say that should scare everyone is that Hillary says it will not be a government run system but in the next sentence said it will cost the American Taxpayers 110 billion dollars per year, and we all know how accurate cost projections by politicians are. Take for example; Medicare Part A was passed in 1965 and projected to cost 9 billion by 1990 but the actual cost in 1990 was 67 billion and in 1987 when the Medicaid subsidy was passed it was projected to cost 100 million per year but actual costs were 11 billion per year. Hillary Care is projected to cost starting at 110 billion per year, based on history just imagine the real cost. What I feel this would lead to is medical rationing, a shortage of doctors and a shortage of the modern medicine we have become accustomed to. Also you can bet you will not be able to see the doctor or specialist you need to see in a timely manor.

The number of 47,000,000 uninsured is tossed about with abandon. How many of those are temporarily uninsured due to the waiting period on a new employer's health plan? Does this number include the 12 - 20 million ILLEGAL aliens? As usual, no answers from the Tea Sippers. Just big fuzzy numbers spouted out for maximum political impact but nothing to back them up. Just like the myth that people do not have access to health care. Federal law mandates any hospital anywhere treat anybody anytime regardless of health coverage status. The Universal Health Care ploy is just another attempt to extend the reach of government control into your everyday life and make you even more dependent on Uncle Sugar for everything. The liberals want to make you like a ‘person of ill-repute’ (to be politically correct about it!) Get you hooked on goodies, make you go out and do your thing and then turn everything you make over to the gov't pimp.

Oops! Got Caught! My Bad!

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential campaign said it will return $850,000 in donations raised by Democratic fundraiser Norman Hsu, who is under federal investigation for allegedly violating election laws.

Clinton, D-N.Y., previously had planned only to give to charity $23,000 she received from Hsu for her presidential and senatorial campaigns and to her political action committee, HillPac.

Really? Will they show proof that this money has been returned and to whom? What charity? One of Bill’s? So many questions and so few answers!

The FBI is investigating whether Hsu paid so-called straw donors to send campaign contributions to Clinton and other candidates, a law enforcement official said Monday.

"In light of recent events and allegations that Mr. Norman Hsu engaged in an illegal investment scheme, we have decided out of an abundance of caution to return the money he raised for our campaign," Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson said in a statement Monday night. "An estimated 260 donors this week will receive refunds totaling approximately $850,000 from the campaign." This only after she got caught with her hand in the cookie jar, again.

The Clintons and the Chinese have always been a little too cozy. Bubba-Bill had a regular “Orient Express” to the White House during his 'adventure' at 1600 Penn. Ave. Any body remember Charlie Trie? Hmmmm? Sounds like Hill is planning the same thing. But Hill is not worried. She knows that the Main-Stream Media will never derail her honey train.

Have You No Decency?

"Let us not assassinate this lad further, senator. You have done enough. Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last? Have you left no sense of decency?" The words of Army lawyer Joseph Welch to Senator Joseph McCarthy in the spring of 1954 in defense of a young Army lawyer whose career McCarty was destroying in his anti-communist crusade against the Army.

These words should be used to counter the character assassination of another member of our Armed Forces this week. General David Petreaus, a highly decorated four-star US Army General is being rhetorically assassinated by the Ugly Left and their Democrat hand-maidens.

Democrat House of Reprobates Tom Lantos (CA), in his opening remarks in the congressionally mandated hearings, basically called General Petreaus a liar for daring to appear before his committee. All because it was likely that the report from Iraq might just have a bit of positive news in it, which it does. The same for House Matron Nancy Pelosi (d) and Senator Harry (Have I Got A Land Deal For You!) Reid (d).

None of this even comes close to the filth contained in the ad by Moveon.org, which the New York Times gladly ran (which I am sure they did not do for free, further prostituting themselves). The ad, bastardized the name “General Petreaus” into “General Betray Us.” In doing so, implied, not so subtly, that General Petreaus, a 35-year veteran serving his country with honor and distinction while proving himself as one of the Army’s greatest generals, betrayed his country! The word “betray” was not chosen lightly. In the military culture, this word carries the same impact as treason. The one word that is sure to inflict the maximum amount of hurt to the person at whom it is aimed.

It is disgusting and despicable but not surprising coming from what is now the Democrat Party. This once great party, now a wholly owned subsidiary of the Ugly Left, is totally invested in the defeat of the United States in Iraq. There is no saving them politically if the US should actually win this segment of the War on Terror. They have long ago gone over the brink and there is no bringing them back. What remains to be seen now is if reasonable people (voters) who have historically called themselves Democrats are willing to follow, lemming-like, this herd of rabid mouth-foaming radical hard-left creatures over the cliff of reason. November 2008 will tell.

Simply Disgraceful !

What is happening in ‘main-stream media’ here of late? There is actually some “positive” news from Iraq being reported, albeit reluctantly. The New York Times has started cautioning against any immediate departure from Iraq after running reports that the “Surge” might actually be working. Europe’s biggest and Germany’s most influential and rabid anti-American magazine, Der Spiegel, wrote this week: “The wind has shifted in Washington. America, not just this president, is at war.” “Many Americans now despise Bush (because of Iraq). Nevertheless, Americans are still loath to admit defeat.”

With moist fickle finger constantly in the winds, Democrats are beginning to realize, as General George Patton said, “Americans love a winner and will not tolerate a loser.” Throughout this past winter, spring and early summer, Democrats have been braying as loudly as they can to get out of Iraq as fast as they could slither. Sen. Harry Reid said the war is lost. Gov. Bill Richardson said that on his first day in the Oval Office, he would order our troops to leave Iraq immediately even to the point of abandoning their weapons and equipment. Mrs. Bill Clinton crowed that if Bush doesn’t end the war, she would immediately after her royal coronation. (Heaven help us!)

Realizing their stupendous misread of the American public, Democrats are now trying to, with the help of a complicit media, erase the historic record of their cowardly loss of nerve this spring. Barack Hussein Obama, in his best Rambo act, has said that President Obama would invade Pakistan to show how tough he in prosecuting the "War on Terror"; while Mrs. Bill Clinton would consider nuking terrorists. The Democrat reformation has begun.

The American public must not forget these cowardly, defeatist statements by the Democrats and are to be repeatedly reminded of what these “losers” were saying the past few months. As Tony Blankley has written, “The leadership of the Democratic Party has, by their public words this spring, disgraced themselves for a generation. Republicans have the right -- and the duty -- to engrave in the public mind the springtime Democratic perfidy and cowardice in the face of the enemy.” Herein lie the seeds for the well deserved landslide defeat of the Democrat Party next November.

Propaganda Redux

In today’s, (Tuesday, August 7^th) Wall Street Journal in an article entitled “Propaganda Redux”, some chilling revelations were made by a former KGB General that is relevant to our current sad state of political discourse.

Lt. General Ion Mihai Pacepa is the highest-ranking intelligence officer ever to have defected from the Soviet bloc. He reveals that sowing the seeds of anti-Americanism by discrediting the American president was one of the main tasks of the Soviet-bloc intelligence community during the years he worked as the head of Romania’s intelligence station in West Germany. The Soviets understood that international respect for America is directly proportional to America’s own respect for its president. The communist effort to generate hatred for the American president began soon after President Truman set up NATO and continued until the fall of the Soviet Union on the watch of President Regan.

Lt. Gen. Pacepa stated, “During the Vietnam War we spread vitriolic stories around the world, pretending that America's presidents sent Genghis Khan-style barbarian soldiers to Vietnam who raped at random, taped electrical wires to human genitals, cut off limbs, blew up bodies and razed entire villages. Those weren't facts. They were our tales, but some seven million Americans ended up being convinced their own president, not communism, was the enemy.” Sound familiar, John Kerry?

Today’s Bush-hating liberal far left has taken a page right out of the communist playbook and the Democrat presidential pretenders and many Democrats in Congress are singing in perfect harmony. They are abetting America’s enemies with their intemperate attacks on President Bush.

We may not be able to change this shameful behavior of some of our current political representatives, but we are certainly able, through the power of the ballot, to introduce healthy new blood into the U.S. Congress. Let’s vote next year for people who believe in America’s future, not for the ones that loath America and everything that has made her great.

Backed In A Corner

Congressional Democrats have allowed themselves to be backed into a very uncomfortable corner. The ‘Nutroot’ anti-war base, to which the Democrat party has become beholding, has been furious that Democrats in Congress haven’t pulled the plug on the war already. Egged on by this base, Democrats have staked out a position on the war in Iraq that will be their undoing. That position is ‘Defeat At All Cost.’ A position of political self-preservation that is likely to become political self-immolation!

Being so far out on the defeatist limb; there is no way back for them except an American defeat and retreat from Iraq. This is evidenced by such statements as “this war is lost..” by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Democrat; and by Representative Nancy Boda, Democrat of Kansas storming out of a hearing in a snit as retired General Jack Keene had the gall to report progress in Iraq. Then there is House Minority Whip James Clyburn, Democrat saying that the prospect of an even partially positive report from General David Petreaus, the US commander in Iraq, this fall would be “a real big problem for us.”

I do not want to believe that Congressional Democrats, for most part, really do hate America as their ‘Nutroot’ masters appear to do. However, perception is reality in Washington.

Democrats have made a huge political blunder. Historically challenged as they are wont to be, they have forgotten that Americans hate losers. This country was not built by losers, but it can be destroyed by them.

Too Hot To Handle?

As Fred Thompson, actor-lawyer-politician nears his much anticipated official announcement as a presidential candidate, his wife, Jeri, is being slurred by liberal media and Democrat operatives as a “trophy wife.” Jeri, at age 40 is 24 years younger than her husband. She is also beautiful, intelligent and powerful. Bill Clinton must be eating his heart out!

No ‘trophy wife’ she, after working for the Senate Republican Conference and the Republican National Committee, she became a big-time political media consultant in Washington. She has been intimately involved in the planning of her husband's campaign, including last week's staff shakeup. When Tom Collamore left as Thompson's campaign manager, he told CNN that he was "very respectful of the desire of Fred and Jeri to make some changes as they move to the next level." Those comments indicated that whoever ran this campaign would have to answer to the candidate's wife.

Thompson, making light of this at his $1,000-a-ticket fund-raiser at he Marriott hotel in down Washington this week, reflects the cool reaction to crisis he has displayed as GOP counsel of the Watergate investigation, U.S. senator from Tennessee and many dramatic roles (most recently district attorney of Manhattan).That he is in a commanding position for the nomination may explain the extraordinary attention paid to his wife.

The spectacle of liberal media pithily demeaning the wife of a man who is not yet a presidential candidate should not be surprising. It just shows how seriously they fear a Thompson presidential bid and also belies their wobbly faith in their own Democrat field.

Defeatists Running Scared

Defeatist Washington Democrats have their scrawny necks stuck out and General Pretreaus just might chop their heads off, politically speaking. The Defeatists are running scared. They have so invested their political existence on American defeat in Iraq that the mere hint of success sends chills down their spineless backs. Undermining the war, in earnest since 2005, they have tried to hide behind the platitudes of “we support the troops, but . . .” The hypocrisy has been blatant. After a near unanimous vote approving General Petreaus and his plan for “the Surge”, the ‘Defeatocrats’ immediately stabbed him in the back. On April 19th of this year, Harry Reid, the leader of the Democrat majority in the US Congress uttered the following proclamation, “"I believe ... that this war is lost, and this surge is not accomplishing anything, as is shown by the extreme violence in Iraq this week." This before the assets for the approved ‘surge’ was even in theater!

Just last month, July, Congressional Democrats engaged in multiple efforts to introduce legislation mandating withdrawal of American troops from Iraq, thereby guaranteeing the defeat they wish for. All this after agreeing to wait until the September report from General Pretreaus, commander on the ground in Iraq! Why are they now so anxious to pre-empt the September deadline? They are in political mortal fear that the ‘Surge’ might actually be working. The lock-step liberal media that has filtered any news of progress in Iraq is beginning to show some cracks in the dike. The New York Times, the paper of record for defeatists, in publishing the op-ed piece from Michael O’Hanlon and Kenneth Pollack of the liberal Brookings Institute, is evidence of this cracking. This piece now paints a very different picture, based on their actual investigation on the ground in Iraq. While not a rosy scenario (there are very few rosy scenarios in any war) they conclude that "there is enough good happening in Iraq that Congress should plan on sustaining the effort at least into 2008."

Good news from Iraq that could spill over into 2008? The last thing the ‘Defeatocrats’ want to the public to hear. 2008 has a much different meaning to politicians than to generals!

Rational & Reasoning Liberals?

Liberal ‘netroots’ Democrats such as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (d) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (d) are in big trouble. Why? Because there are some rational, reasoning liberals coming up for air from the foul stench of liberal vitriol. Michael O’Hanlon and Ken Pollack of the Brookings Institute (no evil conservative think-tank here), are serious students of national security but are not hyper, foaming-at-the-mouth partisans.

Although critics of the war, they have bravely and rightly broken ranks with the Pelosi / Reid Democrat ‘netroots’ goal of American defeat in Iraq solely for cheap domestic political points against their nemesis, President Bush. They opined in The New York Times, of all places, and understand that America’s defeat in Iraq at the hands of al Qaeda and Iranian-backed thugs would have a very negative impact for America. What O’Hanlon and Pollack conclude – “There is enough good happening on the battlefields of Iraq today that Congress should plan on sustaining the effort at least into 2008” – is not what Bush-hating Democrats wanted to hear from some of their own. As a result, dutiful as ever to their liberal masters, some main-stream media types have launched a fratricidal attack on O’Hanlon and Pollack.

The O’Hanlon/Pollack op-ed is important. It forces media, even such outlets as CNN, to discuss the possibility that the war in Iraq might yet be won, much to the detriment of Democrats who have gone over the cliff of ‘defeat at all costs’!

Democrats Bent On Retreat From Iraq

The democrat presidential pretenders are bent on retreat. Competition on CNN’s ‘You-Boob' debate was fierce to see who could cut and run the fastest from the battlefield in Iraq. Positions ranged from Bill Richardson’s “all out right now” plan to a more realistic (but still defeatist) assessment of Joe Biden, with Hillary in “me too” mode. John Edwards seemed more concerned with the color of Hillary’s clothing.

None of these preening peacocks addressed the consequences of a full surrender / retreat in the face of the enemy. Not one of these dolts mentioned the casualties that would be inflicted on our 250,000 troops transported en-mass down a two-lane shooting gallery to the sea. The Iraqi civilian massacre to follow? No concern at all.

Most interesting of all was the absence of any mention of Islamic terrorism and it following our troops home. It is only a matter of time before democrats will deny that 9-11 even happened. It is just an urban myth to frighten little children, they will say.

What should frighten everyone, little children included, is one of them as Commander-in-Chief!

What They Did Not Want to Hear!

Guess our national leaders didn't expect this, hmm? Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton, Colorado, was invited to address the House Judiciary Committee's subcommittee. What he said to our national leaders during this special session of Congress was painfully truthful

They were not prepared for what he was to say, nor was it received well. It needs to be heard by every parent, every teacher, every politician, every sociologist, every psychologist, and every so-called expert! These courageous words spoken by Darrell Scott are powerful, penetrating, and deeply personal. There is no doubt that God sent this man as a voice crying in the wilderness. The following is a portion of the transcript:

"Since the dawn of creation there has been both good & evil in the hearts of men and women. We all contain the seeds of kindness or the seeds of violence. The death of my wonderful daughter, Rachel Joy Scott, and the deaths of that heroic teacher, and the other eleven children who died must not be in vain. Their blood cries out for answers.

"The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out in the field. The villain was not the club he used.. Neither was it the NCA, the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason for the murder could only be found in Cain's heart.

"In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA. I am not a member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun. I am not here to represent or defend the NRA - because I don't believe that they are responsible for my daughter's death. Therefore I do not believe that they need to be defended. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel's murder I would be their strongest opponent.

I am here today to declare that Columbine was not just a tragedy -- it was a spiritual event that should be forcing us to look at where the real blame lies! Much of the blame lies here in this room. Much of the blame lies behind the pointing fingers of the accusers themselves. I wrote a poem just four nights ago that expresses my feelings best. This was written way before I knew I would be speaking here today:

Your laws ignore our deepest needs,
Your words are empty air.
You've stripped away our heritage,
You've outlawed simple prayer.
Now gunshots fill our classrooms,
And precious children die.
You seek for answers everywhere,
And ask the question "Why?"
You regulate restrictive laws,
Through legislative creed.
And yet you fail to understand,
That God is what we need!

"Men and women are three-part beings. We all consist of body, mind, and spirit. When we refuse to acknowledge a third part of our make-up, we create a void that allows evil, prejudice, and hatred to rush in and wreak havoc. Spiritual presences were present within our educational
Systems for most of our nation's history. Many of our major colleges began as theological seminaries This is a historical fact. What has happened to us as a nation? We have refused to honor God, and in so doing, we open the doors to hatred and violence. And when something as terrible as Columbine's tragedy occurs -- politicians immediately look for a scapegoat such as the NRA. They immediately seek to pass more restrictive laws that contribute to erode away our personal and private liberties. We do not need more restrictive laws. Eric and Dylan would not have been stopped by metal detectors. No amount of gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of massacre. The real villain lies within our own hearts.

"As my son Craig lay under that table in the school library and saw his two friends murdered before his very eyes, he did not hesitate to pray in school. I defy any law or politician to deny him that right! I challenge every young person in America, and around the world, to realize that on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School prayer was brought back to our schools. Do not let the many prayers offered by those students be in vain. Dare to move into the new millennium with a sacred disregard for legislation that violates your God-given right to communicate with Him. To those of you who would point your finger at the NRA -- I give to you a sincere challenge. Dare to examine your
Own heart before casting the first stone!

"Poverty" In America

Late in 2006, the Hoover Institute published a study compiling the data about wealth in this country. It exposes the fraud in how Liberals measure “poverty” with which they constantly bludgeon the ‘evil rich’ and raise your taxes. The study cites Bureau of Labor Statistics – the “poor” (lowest 20% of income earners) say the make an average of $8,316 per year. But they say they spend $19,059 a year – or over twice the amount they earn. Makes you wonder what they report to the IRS? For the most part, many of these folks are recipients of government social spending and not necessarily in debt.

According to the Hoover study: “By 2001, over half of poverty-level households had cable TV and two ore more TV sets. …one in four officially poor households had a personal computer and one in six had internet access, and three out of four had at least one VCR or DVD – devices unavailable even to the most affluent a generation earlier.” In addition, by 2003, the poverty stricken household owned two or more motor vehicles.

Today’s “poor” are living more comfortably that much of the “middle class” when today’s baby-boomers were kids. What this proves is that the way we measure “poverty” has no relation to reality and how the “poor” are used to further promote the socialist agenda of wealth re-distribution.

The Damascus Diva

The Damascus Diva, Nancy Pelosi, Democrat Speaker of the US House of Representatives, is the perfect representative of the modern Defeatocrat Party. The Neville Chamberlain of our time. (Just FYI for the historically challenged amongst you, Chamberlain was the British Prime Minister who appeased Hitler and declared peace in our time just before Hitler started WWII. ) Her wide-eyed (too many face-lifts) prancing around the Mid-East without a brain in her head, has set back US and Israeli efforts to curb Syria's terror sponsorship. Syria's president Bashar al-Assad must consider himself very fortunate to have such a useful idiot drop by for a chat. Played her like a fine fiddle, he did. Not only did she intentionally mis-represent the foreign policy of an ally (Israel), she made an illegal high level contact with a foreign government and in discussing policy violated the Logan Act, a felony in the US. When Pelosi returned from her "It's All About Nancy" tour, she should have been arrested and frog-marched into custody. Wonder how Hillary feels now that Nancy thinks she is the president? Hmmmmmm?

Beware of "Free Corn"

This is a great story from Lowell E. Hedges, a retired associate professor of teacher education and a former superintendent of Elgin Local Schools:

I'm greatly concerned about the agenda of Nancy Pelosi and liberals/socialists in the new Congress. The agenda contains items that will put the security of our country at risk; proposals that will take away the freedom of speech for conservative groups; bills that would give the UN more control over the sovereignty of our country; and promises of more financial handouts from the government. In other words, the government can do a better job of leading
our lives, than we can do ourselves.

I am reminded of the words of Ronald Reagan: "The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help."

I can best explain my concern about the new congress's agenda, by using this analogy given to me by a former student of mine.

Several years ago I was supervising a beginning teacher in a city school system. One day during our end-of-the-day feedback conference, the young man gave a facial grimace and began to rub his back. I asked him if he had strained his back in the school lab. After a long period of silence, he sat down at his desk and explained that he had immigrated to the United States because of political problems in his native country. The discomfort in his back was caused by a bullet wound he had received while fighting the Communists who were trying to take over his country's government. He was then a member of the underground nationalist force.

Then he asked me a surprising question: "Dr. Hedges, do you know how to catch a wild hog?" The question was completely out of context regarding the day's classroom and lab teaching. I replied, "I"m not sure what you are talking about. Tell me."

"First," he said, "you find out where the wild hogs are roaming and feeding, and then you put some corn out in the field. Soon they will come to eat the corn. You keep putting out the free corn. More wild hogs keep coming to eat the corn."

"So what?" I said. "That's normal for any animal."

"Be patient. I will tell you what comes next," he said. "After the hogs get used to your free corn, you put up a length of fence along one side of the feeding area. The hogs get used to it. You keep giving them the corn. Then you put up another section of fence at right angles to the first. You keep giving them the corn. The hogs get used to the second fence. Then you put up another length of fence at right angles to the second section. You now have a U-shaped fenced area. The hogs get used to that section of the fence. You keep giving them free corn. Then you put another section of fence with a gate in it,
making a closed area except for the gate. You keep giving them corn. Now, the hogs no longer are out in the fields, working to find their own food. They keep coming into the area to eat the free corn. They get used to the fenced area with the open gate. Then, one day you slam shut the gate when the hogs are inside the fenced area. The wild hogs are caught - they are your prisoners."

I understood then that the wild hogs were really the people of his native country, and that the free corn was the enticements that the Communists were giving to the people. "That's correct," the young man said. "Now, the hogs will not get anything to eat unless you give them food. You are in control. They depend on you to feed them, or they will starve. They can't get out into the fields and forests anymore to find their own food. They have probably forgotten how, as it is. They are your servants, your prisoners. They must obey you. Or else they starve.

"The hogs," he said, "were so accustomed to having the free corn, that they ignored the building of the fences that would eventually trap them. When the gate slammed shut, it was too late for them to realize what they had been blind to. The free corn was enticing, so effortless to obtain, but eventually the cause of their loss of freedom. The fence had been built; the gate had been shut."

At this point in our conversation, the young teacher, in a voice shaking with emotion and with fists hitting the desktop, loudly exclaimed, "This is what I see happening in America today! People are being offered free corn by the government. People are being blind to the fences being built around them by the liberals - the socialists - and that is what frightens me! Just like it was happening in my homeland. The American people do not learn from history. And history shows that socialism/communism does not work. Take note of Russia . Has socialism been the best thing that ever happened to that country? Absolutely not! But socialism is what the American people are being fed, and they don't realize it. All they can focus on is the 'free corn.' They want more and more of the 'free' corn. And this free corn is being fed to us little by little, and soon the gate will slam shut. I am very frightened, and also amazed, that the American people don't see what is being fed us, and for what purpose."

With that said, the young man sat down at his desk and continued to rub his painful back. And I was silent in my chair. And afraid. For I could visualize the supposedly "free corn" being fed to our nation's people, and our growing addiction to the "free corn." And I could see the gate being slammed shut.

We, the people of the United States of America , because of our ignorance of history, because of our addiction to the supposedly "free corn," could soon be prisoners of liberal socialism.

Along with this fighter for freedom from socialism/communism, I, too, wanted to slam my fists on the desktop and cry out in a loud voice for all to hear, "Wake up, America! The fences are being built! Don't you see what is happening to us?"

In the agenda of the new Congress governed by the liberal Democrats, there is much "free corn" being promised the American people. In our greed for this "free corn," will we ignore the incremental building of the fences, and the inevitable shutting of the gate?

As I ponder the building of the fences now underway by the new Congress, I remember the old adage, 'There is always free cheese in a mousetrap."

It seems the only thing we learn from history is that we do not learn from
history.

Time for School Vouchers

A good education is the key to a person’s future and every child deserves the best he or she can get. The State of Utah, passing a landmark educational voucher program, has taken a giant step toward insuring that for their children. Every family, depending on its income, will be reimbursed between $500 and $3,000 per child for tuition paid to the private school of their choice.

Of course the ‘educrats’ and their puppet masters, the teacher’s unions, are in full jihad marshalling their lawyer sleeper-cells to thwart the will of the people. Under their ‘educratic’ control, “they have turned their government schools into laboratories for social engineering, downgrading basic academics and old-fashioned notions of American exceptionalism, patriotism and individualism in favor of collectivism, political correctness, diversity, environmentalism, feminism, and delusional self-esteem”, as summarized by radio personality Mike Rosen.

As the United States falls further behind other nations in the math and science proficiency of students, and millions of functionally illiterate high school graduates, it’s increasingly obvious that something is terribly wrong with public education in this country.

If only Tennessee had the wisdom and courage to follow Utah’s example.

The Cowardly "Comment" Class

"What we pay people in Washington for is to make decisions," former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani told the audience at the California GOP convention in Sacramento Saturday.

Mr. Mayor, you are so right. All this ‘non-binding’ resolution nonsense is just blatant political cowardly comment. We do not pay these people to “comment”. The anti-everything-Bush Democrats are so riddled by Bush-hatred that they are willing to risk the security of the United States by encouraging the Islamo-extremist terrorists world wide while disrespecting our brave troops in harms way. A few misguided Republicans, such as Rep. John Duncan of East Tennessee, join these Democrats in this harmful and despicable action.

The argument that by not backing the sending of reinforcements for our troops is really showing support for them is the most ridiculous sort of political blathering imaginable. If any of these Surrendocrats had the courage of their convictions, they would actually try to cut off funding for our troops. Of course they will not do that for it would show their true colors, the white of surrender. They are now so politically invested the defeat of America they know they could never survive victory.

Hillary Wants Those Profits !

Hillary Clinton, Democrat presidential wanna-be, let slip her socialist darkside recently at the winter meeting of the Democrat National Committee. She said, “The oil companies reported the highest profits in the history of the world. I want to take those profits, and I want to put them in an alternative energy fund.”

She was ranting about ExxonMobil’s $39.5 billion 2006 profit report. While this is a staggering number, what she conveniently omits is the context. ExxonMobil’s profits come on sales of $377.5 billion, making the profit margin just a shade over 10%. This is a fair-to-middling return and well below other industries such as banking and bio-tech.

Take those profits? Isn’t that confiscation of private property?; shareholder’s property?; ordinary American’s property? This is not her (government’s) money to take. This is another example of just how liberals consider other people’s money their own and demonize any successful person or business that actually produces a product or service that people want and need. They believe that government should control and provide everything.

All Aboard Pelosi One

The latest flap involving Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (Democrat) is her request for the use of luxury air transport for her, her family and untold numbers of politicians, lobbyists and other hangers-on to and from Washington to San Francisco, her home district. The Speaker of the House, being second in line of succession to the presidency, has since 9-11 been afforded military air transport for security reasons. Former Speaker Hastert (Republican) flew on a 16 passenger military jet. Not content with such plebian accommodations, Speaker Pelosi is requesting one that will seat 42 passengers, has an entertainment center, private bedroom, first class conference room and a crew of 16, all at the taxpayer-paid rate of $15,000 per hour.

The sheer arrogance of the request is mind-boggling! Oh, and you tree-huggers will love this: this craft will spew 10,000 pounds of carbon-dioxide into the air every hour. All this from the woman who promised to end congressional perks, bring fiscal responsibility to government and end global warming!

Well, all you that voted Democrat this last election, what hath thou wrought?

The Senate Did What! ?

The complete hypocrisy and incoherence of the Senate Democrats, and a few cowardly Republicans, has moved from being comical to absurd and now downright dangerous. Last week, Lt. Gen David Petraeus came before the Senate Armed Services Committee for the obligatory audience before the gaggle of preening presidential pretenders, and posturing other Senators of lesser light, prior to his confirmation as the new commander of American forces in Iraq. A confirmation granted with a UNANIMOUS vote, by the way, from 81 Senators. (The other 19 presumably forgot to show up for work but still got paid.) This unanimous vote was for the man who was instrumental in formulating the “Surge” strategy they plan to vote against in a useless resolution this week. A resolution that is designed to do nothing but weaken the Commander-In-Chief at a time of war and, as Lt. Gen. Petraeus testified, will demoralize our troops and encourage the enemy.

Before this vote is taken, they should be aware of three interesting things that have occurred since the “surge” was announced in the State of the Union address by President Bush:

First, al-Qaida appears to be retreating from Bagdad.

Second, the radical cleric Moqtada al-Sadar (aka “Mookie” to our troops) is cooling his anti-American rhetoric and lowering his profile.

Third, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki is distancing himself from “Mookie” and his Iranian-subsidized militia, the Mahdi army.

All this is happening with just the threat of a “surge.” Why will the Democrats, and a few cowardly Republicans, not give this plan a chance to work? Are they that afraid that it actually will? Hmmmmmm?

Withdraw Now !

The readers of my Blog will find this hard to believe: I have come to embrace the policy of immediate withdrawal! That’s right. I can no longer, in good conscience, tolerate the expenditure of lives and treasure in a situation that has no solution. The failed effort to bring order out of chaos in an area that has seen 3,606 American lives lost to acts of violence and 195,631 injured during the past four years is unacceptable. Therefore, I demand that the US Congressional leadership do everything in their power to affect an immediate and complete withdrawal of all Americans from and cut off all funding to this lost cause.

The Business of Hyprocisy As Usual

The much heralded, publicized and cooed-over hike in the federal minimum wage, the centerpiece of the new Dumbocrat controlled House of Reprobates, has now been passed and sent on to the Senate. But, as Rep. Patrick T. McHenry, NC Republican said, “There is something fishy going on here.”

The bill was touted, ad-nauseum by QeenBee Pelosi, as a raise for ALL Americans. It extends for the time to the U.S. territory of the Northern Mariana Islands. However, it EXEMPTS American Samoa, the only U.S. territory NOT subject to federal-minimum wage laws.

One of the biggest opponents of the federal minimum wage in Samoa is StarKist Tuna, which owns one of the two packing plants that together employ more than 5,000 Samoans, or nearly 75 percent of the island's work force. StarKist's parent company, Del Monte Corp., has headquarters in San Francisco, which is represented by Mrs. Pelosi, the San-Fransico Treat.

For all of you who voted for honesty and fairness in government, I got your honesty and fairness right here! Wallow in it! There is much more on the way!

War-Weary? Who Us?

MainStreamMedia is at it again. Convinced that ALL Americans are mind-numbed robots that will blindly accept their prescribed daily opinion, they are now telling us that we are “war-weary”. This is the latest buzz-word being used in the war on the War on Terror. Convinced that if we are told loud enough and long enough that we are “war-weary” then we will be “war-weary.”

There is no American that has any reason to be “war-weary”. How can we be “war-weary” when we have not been personally affected, in any significant way by the war. The exceptions, of course, are the military and their families who have proudly and willingly sacrificed more that we can ever know. The chattering class and their politician pets evoke the “war-weary American people" at every opportunity. Someone tell me how we, the people, can be “war-weary” when the most important thing in most of our daily lives is having the latest cell-phone gadget and the Rosie-Donald mud-fest? What have ‘we’ been asked to do? How many of the products that we buy are rationed? Is there a shortage of cars to buy because all the steel is being used for weapons? Are you unable to by a steak at a restaurant or super-market because the troops need to be fed? Can’t get a new set of tires because of a shortage of rubber? How in the world are we “war-weary”?

What an insult to our brave troops!

Afraid We Might Win!

There is only one reason for the disgusting, albeit predictable, reaction of the liberal Democrats to President Bush's address to the nation about the war in Iraq. They are scared to death that we will win this war! Their political life has been threatened by the anti-war socialist left if they allow the United States to win the war. The same flacid bunch of noxious elitists that prevented victory in Viet Nam are the same faction that claims that they, and they alone, are responsible for the Democrat party taking the House and Senate in this year's mid-term election. Victory is not to be allowed under any circumstances for it would completely repudiate their whole reason for being.

For four years, the Democrats have thrown every roadblock in the path to victory. They have hobbled the presidency and military to such an extent that it is all but impossible to conduct successful military operations. Despite the bromides of supporting our troops, they are furious with them for not giving up and quitting. Our president and military are now fighting a mult-front war. One of them being here at home with leftist politicians and the obnoxious chattering class. If a tatic is working or, likely to, (Gitmo, terrorist surveillance, terrorist profiling), it must be abolished! Therefore, based on this contrarian theory and the howls coming from the lose-at-all-cost crowd, the President's new plan must be the right one for victory!

The Insult of Welfare Fraud

Welfare fraud, since FDR’s sainted New Deal, has cost us, the ones that actually pay taxes, billions and billions of dollars we earned, not the government. This fraud has been given the wink-and-a-nod treatment for years by elitist politicians and socialist liberals. It fits their agenda of the transfer of wealth from those who earn it to those who do not.

How many times have you waited in line at the grocery and observed the person ahead doling out food stamps for a cart loaded with steaks, brand-name products, cigarettes and beer while yapping on a cell phone and wearing designer labels? All while you, you poor schlub, wait to pay your hard-earned money on the store brand fare leaving the more expensive on the shelf. You can be certain that this “food stamp queen” will not leave the store and waddle out to the bus-stop. A late model vehicle, probably newer than yours, awaits for the luxury transport to the taxpayer provided housing.

If this ‘welfare recipient’ has money for cell phone service, designer clothes and an SUV, then way are we, the ones the money was confiscated from, having to endure the humiliation of watching this spectacle. If the new congress were serious about ethics reform then welfare reform would top the list.

Welfare assistance should be as originally conceived: a temporary helping hand to those unable, not unwilling, to meet the basic necessities. Big screen TVs, cell phones, cable / satellite TV and designer jeans are not basic necessities.

Stop the welfare fraud. It is an insult to hard-working Americans.

John Edwards - "Man of the Poor"

He’s Back! John Edwards – Man of the Poor- or so the multi-millionaire trail lawyer calls himself. As the latest preening peacock to wade into the Democrat presidential birdbath (getting a little crowded in there Hillary?), John Edwards has staked out the ‘poor’ as his turf. His vaporous plan to end poverty is to “grow the middle class”. However, he does not realize that you cannot grow the middle class without growing middle class values. Values such as growing up, getting a job, getting married to someone of the opposite sex, settling down and then having kids when you are emotionally and financially ready. His cure for the epidemic rise in out of wedlock births is admonishing young women “to not have kids until they’re ready”. Since the Liberal Democrat party is loath to speak the M-Word (marriage) without the prefix of “gay” attached, their definition of “ready” is fatally flawed.

Absent the “values” component in ‘growing the middle class’, the fall back is the tried and true and failed policy of buying the poor into the middle class. If this would work, the $585 billion (big money even to congress-critters) of your money that the Federal and state governments spend per year on the “poor” would have done it by now!

Folks, the only way to go from “poor” to “middle class” and on to “evil rich” is to work hard, take responsibility and do it yourself.

“If I knew then what I know now . . .” the latest words from President Elect (according to Big Media) Hillary Rodham-Clinton back tracking on her vote for military action in Iraq. How many times have we ordinary folk thought or said something to that effect? Alas, therein lies the problem. A President is not supposed to be ‘ordinary folk’. Unless you are a pretty, blonde, tearful Miss USA, you do not get a “do-over” in life. A President of the United States does not get a “do-over”. Throughout our history, Presidents have made hard, gut wrenching decisions and have had the grit to do so. They must have the character and strength to accept the consequences of those decisions, good and bad, just as any good parent teaches their children. Presidents do not have the luxury of hindsight. They carry the responsibility for decisions they make, unlike the every four-year pack of jackals known as Presidential contenders. This ‘coulda-woulda-shoulda’ chorus speaks volumes of the character of the choir members (Kerry, Edwards and now Clinton). Just imagine a President of the United States running around hand-wringing and whining to the world, “If only I had known…”.

Defeat The War On Christmas

The War on Christmas must be defeated. Not only on a moral level but, just as important, on a common sense level. Why has the vast majority of the American populace allowed themselves to be cowed by the slighest whimper from some insecure, adolecent, miserable malcontent. The Ten Commandments, Nativity scenes, prayer in public forums and now Christmas Trees all now banned in many places simply because someone has the mistaken opinion that there is a constitutional right to not be offended! Well, I have but two words to say to this delusion: Grow up! How dare you, you sniveling, thin-skinned little thumb-sucker dictate to me what, when and where I may or may not celebrate my holidays, honor my heritage or pray to my God. . If I allowed myself to be "offended" I would become the same wretched, misrealbe, self-loathing creature as you. I will not cede to you that kind of power over me. Therefore, with the full intent of being polictically incorrect: Merry Christmas and God bless us all!

So You Want To Vote Democrat?

If the propagandists in the Mainstream Media are to be believed, then America is fed up with the current state of Congress and in the mood to change ruling parties. If this is your frame of mind, before you vote just ask yourself the following questions:

1. If you are taking too much money home in your paycheck, then vote for a Democrat. They will raise your taxes and solve that little problem.
2. If you want to abandon the War on Terror and bring our forces home before the job is finished, then vote for a Democrat. They will cut and run and then you can fight the enemy right here at home.
3. If you want to make yourself a success and think you have too much freedom and opportunity to do so, then vote for a Democrat. They will kill your ambition and stifle your ability to do so by more and more onerous laws, taxes and regulations.
4. If you are currently a success and have accumulated a little wealth and are ridden with guilt for having worked hard and earned it, then vote for a Democrat. They will take and re-distribute your wealth to others, most not willing to earn it themselves, just for that warm and fuzzy feeling. Help the less fortunate, but do so yourself; not because a pandering politician says so. Charity by government mandate is not charity; it is socialism!

Otherwise, vote Republican in November, warts and all.

Media Declares Election Over

The election is over. The votes have already been counted. The Republicans are cooked, stick a fork in them they are done. Or so you would believe if you are under the influence of the agenda driven mainstream media. This is exactly how the Liberal Democrats plan to regain power. They are depending upon the belief that you, the folks, are as simple as to be led by the nose in any direction they choose by their sycophants in the world of media. For the last six years, there has been nothing but negative stories, finger pointing, outright lies by the liberals and their panting partners in the press.

What do Democrats have to offer in a positive vein if they do take power in November? No one knows. The self-anointed Speaker of the House to be, Nancy Pelosi, outlined what Democrats plan to do in the first 100 hours after taking power: Lose the war in Iraq, raise taxes and take away current tax relief, mandate higher costs on business by raising the minimum wage which you, the folks, will pay in higher prices. And just for fun, impeach a Commander-in Chief during wartime. Where is there anything positive in all this?

Liberal Democrats cannot win elections on issues. They win by scandal, lies and negative spin. They win only if we let them. Well, I for one, will not allow that to happen by staying home on election day. I will take great pleasure in canceling a liberal’s vote!

The Tin Foil Hat Crowd

I see that Tom Bohs is wearing his brand new tin-foil hat purchased from the Netroots division of the Democrat National Committee. Is it the Howard Dean designer model or just the regular nut-case headgear? Regardless, it must have come with a pre-printed conspiracy theory, this time about falling gas prices, the subject of his editorial rant in the Sunday Jackson Sun ( read his editorial )

This event, like all others including the weather, is to be blamed on George W. Bush by the likes of this paranoid paper editor and his “Hate Bush Club” socialist comrades. Rational folk, who have the slightest inkling on how market forces work, understand the positive results of a confluence of events. The ending, even if temporary, of the latest dust up between Lebanon and Israel, the much milder than expected hurricane season to date, and the end of the high-traffic summer driving season all converged. This has convinced the true culprits of gas (oil) prices, the speculators, that a shift from perceived future shortages to perceived future surpluses, at least a leveling of supply and demand, have taken place.

However, I must commend Mr. Bohs for, even if unwittingly, attributing some positive economic news to President Bush.

Oh How They Squeal!

Oh how they can squeal! The Democrat response to President Bush’s 9/11 Anniversary Address to the Nation is breathtaking in its banality and shallowness. The whining started immediately and predictably by the same tired old cast of characters such as Senators Harry Reid (d) and Ted Kennedy (d). The childish sniveling and foot-stomping by these and other Democrats show just how bereft this pack of partisans are of any real concern for the well-being of our country. All they can do is display faux outrage claiming the president used the speech from the Oval Office for political purposes. This from the bunch, who’s every breath, and other gaseous emissions, are of a vitriolic partisan political nature with the express purpose of destroying a President of the United States during a time of war.

President Bush explained, directly to the people, who the enemy is, where they are, why we are fighting them there, and why we will, and must, see this war through to victory. He did this eloquently and forcefully without an opportunity for Big Media to re-write, filter and de-emphasis the message. The Democrats cannot stand when this happens. When the president speaks directly to us, as he did Monday night, it makes the predictable Democrat reaction seem even more narcissistic and irreverent. As President Bush told us, “This struggle has been called a clash of civilizations. In truth, it is a struggle for civilization”. This quote from the speech shows how much larger the issue than Democrat ruffled feathers.

The Democrat Mid-Term Agenda (or lack thereof)

What is the Democrat agenda heading into the mid-term elections this November? I can sum it up in one word: Nothing. That’s right. They plan to allow absolutely nothing to be accomplished, in any way shape or form. To allow any positive action for the country, either in domestic policy or national security, might be seen as a Republican accomplishment. This must in no way and at any cost be allowed.

On every issue from the economy, domestic issues to national security, these yapping curs have proven themselves to be, to borrow a phrase from a former vice-president, “nattering nabobs of negatism”. More people than ever are working; personal income is higher than ever, even under the reign of St. Clinton; in a war with Islamo-fascists who have vowed for five years to re-attack our homeland . . . no attacks.

On all these issues all we hear is complaints, whining, outright lies and promises of a “new direction”. It is clear, that for the past three years, the Democrat plan to is to do all in their obstructionist power to drag our country to a level so low that even a Democrat congress will have no where to go but up. Some “new direction”! No thanks.
